A subset of the farmers within the UK Multi-Actor Platform met to debate the role of agro-ecological practices in addressing drivers of change, and the types of barriers to their uptake.
Baltic Environmental Forum Lithuania, together with partners from various European countries implementing the project UNISECO, invited specialists from various fields to the discussion "Development of Strategies to Promote the Application of Agro-ecological Practices". The discussions revealed various drivers and barriers that are expected to be analyzed in more detail.
Today’s virtual workshop brought together local actors representing farmers, value chain actors, advisory services and capacity building, authorities and administrations, NGOs, and science.
A remote workshop with local actors of the Greek Multi-Actor Platform in Imathia took place on the 1st of July 2020 with the aim to co-construct the transition strategies towards addressing the key dilemma of sustaining the long-term economic viability of fruit farms whilst protecting the natural resources.

Authored by colleagues from GAN, CREA, TI with contributions from all project partners this Deliverable is part of the governance and policy assessment of the UNISECO project. The objective of this report is twofold: (i) to create a database of existing market and policy instruments (MPIs) that support Agro-ecological Farming Systems (AEFS) in Europe; (ii) to summarise the analytical review of MPIs to identify and understand the key policy factors that enhance or limit agro-ecological transition in the 15 UNISECO case studies.
UNISECO results were presented at the 9th AIEAA Conference. CREA - Centre for Agricultural Policies and Bioeconomy and Thüenen Institute represented the UNISECO consortium at the Organised Session "Adoption of agro-ecological practices: state of the art and prospects", co-organised with LIFT researchers.
In view of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the EIP-AGRI Service Point has made the decision to postpone this seminar. The seminar will no longer take place on 7-8 October 2020. Instead, it will be rescheduled in spring 2021.
