The James Hutton Institute
The James Hutton Institute (HUT) is one of the Scottish Environment, Food and Agriculture Research Institutes (SEFARI.Scot). It is an international interdisciplinary centre for research into food, energy and environmental security, developing and promoting integrated land management under global change. Its expertise includes the environmental characteristics and land uses of Scotland, and understanding behaviours and attitudes of land managers in response to climatic and socio-economic factors. Its research farms provide platforms for engaing actors in policy and practice.
