Every case study reflects an AEFS at a certain point of agro-ecological transition.
The underlying basis for the performance assessments was the characterization of farms in the case studies into farm groups. For each farm group, selected farms were then assessed with the COMPAS, Cool Farm Tool and SMART. Some project partners also defined additional, case study specific indicators for the DST assessment with help of multi-actor engagement.
The report describes the process of data collection, verification and compilation, provides an overview of the case studies, their dilemmas and the investigated farm groups, and then summarizes the results, and conclusions per case study and across the 15 case studies across Europe. The evaluation of the results focuses upon the components of the core dilemma of AEFS: the provision of public goods and the economic viability of farms.
