ODT Forum: AGROECOLOGY: Multiple Transitions of territories, Lausanne, 4 - 6 December 2019

UNISECO presented experiences from its Multi-Actor Framework for Agro-Ecological Farming Systems and evidence from the case studies in Germany and Italy on the role of social networks in agroecological transitions.

The 7th edition of the Forum Origin, Diversity and Territories - ODT 2019 - explored and put into perspective the theme of agroecology: Multiple Transitions of Territories. The ODT Forum is a unique learning experience that brought together scientists, key actors from territories, farmers, consumers and development agents. The 2019 Forum had organised six interesting workshops on different aspects and themes of agroecological transitions such as platforms, networks and tools that facilitate agroecological transitions, planning and support for sustainable transitions at the territorial level and the distribution of agroecological agricultural products (including aspects of marketing and trade).

Workshop No. 6 focused on biological processes and social networks and included a session on research and practice exchange networks for agroecological transition. The workshop was coordinated by Stephane Bellon, INRA France (and a member of the UNISECO EU-level MAP), Leila Chakroun, UNIL Switzerland and Kenza Benadberrazik, Department of Agricultural Sciences, Sustainable Agroecosystems Group, ETHZ.

UNISECO was represented by the Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of  the Agricultural Economy (CREA), the James Hutton Institute and the Thünen Institute of Farm Economics with two presentations titled "Exploring the role of social networks in agroecological transitions: evidence from case studies across Europe" and "A Multi-Actor Framework for Agro-Ecological Farming Systems in the European Union".
