Project final stage: synthesising project findings

The UNISECO project is now in its final stages. Through to completion in April 2021 we are finalising the project synthesis and summarising the main changes in governance and implications for sustainability of the strategies for agro-ecological transitions as a means to strengthen the sustainability of European farming systems. Those strategies were co-constructed in case studies in the 15 European countries of project partners.

As part of the process of synthesising project findings, we are:

  • exploring the possible impacts of uncertainties in the development of future drivers and context of farming systems in Europe on the sustainability implications, and successful implementation of the co-constructed strategies;
  • reflecting on the usefulness of the conceptual and theoretical framework used in the project (the social-ecological systems framework) to guide the participatory analysis and co-construction of strategies to overcome barriers of agro-ecological transitions both from the perspective of the involved researchers as well as the Multi-Actor Platforms involved in the workshops in the case studies as well as in the workshops at European level.
  • evaluating the overall transdisciplinary approach of the UNISECO project, and your experiemces (benefits and difficulties) of participation in the project through the Multi-Actor Platforms, and as a member of the Project Advisory Group.
