Agro-ecological Knowledge Hub

save the date: VIRTUAL UNISECO final conference 18-19 March 2021

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce that the final conference of the UNISECO project will take place on the 18th and 19th of March 2021. The conference was planned to take place in Brussels, Belgium, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the conference will be virtual.

“Strengthening the sustainability of EU farming systems, through co-constructing improved and practice-validated strategies and incentives for the promotion of improved agro-ecological approaches”

The event will showcase the results of the UNISECO project including strategies for agro-ecological transitions in a diverse set of case studies across Europe, territorial implications of agro-ecological transitions at EU-level, and the Agro-Ecological Knowledge Hub and key recommendations for policy and practice. The event will provide a number of opportunities to:

  • Debate a range of findings and approaches, including the lessons for policy and for practice and the use of the handbook and spatially explicit interactive online tool to explore sustainability impacts of agro-ecological farming systems;
  • Contribute to an evolving policy debate in Europe;
  • Network with key stakeholders, researchers and other interested parties.

These results are intended to contribute to the implementation of the Green Deal, Farm to Fork Strategy, Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the preparations of the European R&I partnership on agroecology living labs and research infrastructures and the national CAP Strategic Plans.

The target audience of this conference includes farming organisations and stakeholders across the value chain, the European Commission and public authorities, international organisations, NGOs and civil society organisations, knowledge and innovation networks and brokers, and researchers.

The agenda, information on the venue and registration details will follow later this year.

Kind regards,
The UNISECO Team
